Uses of Biogas

Biogas is perhaps the ultimate renewable energy source. It allows farmers to produce electricity, reduce water contamination, odor pollution, and CO2 emissions caused by waste decomposition gases.  The fuel can be used in any direct or internal combustion system. Examples of these are boilers, turbines, and fuel cells. There are also application that make it possible to add gases to natural gas pipelines. Mainly animal waste. It is used predominantly on farms to produce electricity, boiler fuel (for space and water heating). Any unused energy can then be sold back into the grid. Thus, boosting local economy while making more self-sufficient communities.
